In early November we hosted a Technology Seminar for clients and affiliates of our company. The event was focused on the Magseis proprietary Marine Autonomous Seismic System (MASS), new technology developments – such as the new MASS III node – and our progress on new deployment platforms. We also presented experiences from operations where the MASS system has proven its step-changing efficiencies in OBS surveys. A number of key people from Magseis gave a deeper insight into the different aspects of Magseis’s proprietary technology, and some of the challenges that we have overcome when operating in complex fields worldwide. The Technology Seminar also featured guest presentations from Statoil on “Benefit of OBS and PS data for structural interpretation” and from Arkwright on “ The Future of OBS Market: Still a niche or becoming mainstream?”.
Our new miniaturized MASS III node was rigged and displayed with output from the sensors. The sensors were recording during the entire event, capturing the pulse of the seminar throughout the day!
The attendance, interest and engagement during our technology seminar was highly rewarding and we will make the seminar a yearly event. This first seminar we kept low profile, only inviting close clients and affiliates. The next seminar, in 2017 we would like to open to a wider audience within the industry.
A warm thank you to all the participants and attendees for creating a vibrant and dynamic event and looking forward to seeing you next year.
